You’ll love interacting with the crime-fighting, plunger-headed superhero LarryBoy! Action and adventure are yours as LarryBoy is called upon to save the citizens from the Bad Apple and her web of temptation. Sooner or later every town needs a hero. Now you can be that hero!
VeggieTales – LarryBoy and the Bad Apple is a platforming / puzzle adventure game for the Game Boy Advance. Inspired by the upcoming feature length film, this game centers around the themes of temptation and moderation. You will take control of LarryBoy, the caped cucumber crusader, and try to stop the evil Bad Apple from tempting several citizens of Bumblyburg. In order to do this, you will take on a series of time based platforming missions located in a variety of wild areas around the city, as they try to help LarryBoy track down tempted characters. Once they have found the misguided character, you will help LarryBoy free them from the spell of the Bad Apple by lowering their temptation level.
The gameplay style of VeggieTales – LarryBoy and the Bad Apple will mainly consist of platforming game mechanics that incorporate puzzle challenges. When LarryBoy is on a temptation mission, (Boss fights) the gameplay will be more structured around classic arcade game mechanics.
The breakdown for the gameplay is as follows:
- Five levels consisting of five or six platforming / puzzle time based missions each.
- Five Temptation missions (Boss fights) based around retro classic arcade game mechanics.
- Two Song Bonus rounds. Making use of classic songs of the VeggieTales show, (or introducing new ones) these mini-games will be based on platforming game mechanics as well. They will be offered at different points in the game after players has completed an entire level.
- Discover zany worlds and a multitude of missions as LarryBoy helps save the citizens of Bumblyburg
- Utilize amazing superhero gadgets to fight temptation and the Bad Apple
